Christopher Kufek, Chef de Cuisine
Christopher Kufek was born in West Hills, California. Chris began his restaurant career washing dishes at the Argentine Café Buenos Aires in Santa Barbara and would go on to earn a line cook position there. After a year in Santa Barbara, Chris moved back to Los Angeles to learn the secrets of Sicily at Maggiano’s restaurant. After mastering the art of Italian cuisine, he moved on to work with James Beard award winner Gavin Kaysen at El Bizcocho at the Rancho Bernardo Inn located in San Diego, California.
Now at 26 years old, Chef Chris has worked his way up the culinary ladder. In just two short years, he has become the Chef de Cuisine at the historic Saddle Peak Lodge. In addition to his talents in the kitchen he is also a highly skilled finish carpenter, metal worker and cabinet maker. On his days off he can be seen teeing off at the local golf course, in most likely a bright colored shirt and golf knickers.
